Jung thinks that nations, like individuals, can be described psychologically. A nation can have its illness, its psychic dissociation and breakdowns, the nation, the mass, can be viewed as species of greater individual. If the mass, "the body politic", acts as a single entity, then astrologers seeking to understand it, should be able to cast a birthchart. Such a chart should provide indications of the internal dynamics of a nation, in the same way that a natal chart can provide information about an individual. The individuals living in the city apparently are separated, but when we come up to sharing a particular place the conscious side blends with the collective unconscious: this means the mass, living in the same city, share in fact a connection.

In this research lies the future hope, that mankind will realize the unity of us all. Moved by such ideals I decided to go to the city hall; to discover the date of birth for the splendid city of Victoria. The people at city hall, gave me the date, of the first council meeting: 25th August 1862, meeting adjourned at eight pm.

Victoria is born under the sign of Virgo, the sun is two degrees Virgo and thirty eight minutes, with a rising sign in eight degrees Aries. From this we can read that Virgo is an indication of service, it rules workers and the employed class, the political class, the Navy, the National Defence, the civil service, and all green places. Through its connection with health, the sixth house, (Virgo), rules public health, health workers and the health of the society at whatever level we wish to consider it.

Is this a realistic portrait of Victoria? So busy to be at service for its inhabitants: a place where people come to be at their ease and be healed. The weather and the beauty of the city does the rest. The triple conjunction in Virgo: Sun, Mercury, and Moon indicate that things in Victoria are thought and worked out in a most detailed and caring way, very precise. Education and legislation benefit.

A little bit of historical background: during the French Third Republic, Mercury was in Libra, bringing the wave of culture and cafe society pioneered by the Impressionists, the Existentialists, and others. Canada, in general, is under Cancer, and in particular the Western side under the dominion of Leo (Victoria was a queen) Leo is the King of the Jungle. Nice to note in the Victoria's chart, that Venus is in Leo, so arts express themselves: painters, theatres, sculpture etc.. Beauty is very important to the city, Victoria is proud to be so beautiful but this is a sign of psychological stress. Always there is more to express, engagements take place and the the birthrate increases. The dynamic position in Victoria's chart of Mars in the rising sign Aries, indicates energy and activity to the affairs of the city.

Astrology and Children

Childhood, is a period of development when we are still very open to inner changes; a very fertile time when everything is a surprise. The seed of life is in the beginning of its development. The inner side of a child, is like a garden, to be cared for and responds to whatever is put into it!

The Astrologer is like the gardener, carefully following the growth of the flowers as well as invasive weeds. Astrology is an instrument, a scientific tool, to measure the psychological state of children, its diagnosis is most accurate, in the individual's dynamics. Children are too young to understand and express logically their feelings and thoughts. In the new millennium, we are drawn towards new ways of treatment, new ways of approaching life, either subjectively or objectively: a tension towards the world of the future. From this point of view I came to magnets in the most natural way: such as they came to me! Healing through magnets is not new in itself, but what is unique, in this period of human growth are the new dimensions to the use of magnets.

As an astrologer, magnets and magnetism are scientifically ruled by the planet Uranus, which is projected power. The projected power of the magnets works in a most concise and synthetical way: it is fast, changes concretely any physical state.

We can compare it to a highly focused, high mind in a developed individual, such as the genius. The Children And The Lies

In a poor hut on a cold night, rich with stars high in the sky; there is a woman and her son Amahl. There is a knock at the door. The mother: "Amahl, go and see who’s knocking on the door." Amahl: "Mum, outside the door there is…there is a king with a crown on his head." The mother: "Stop telling lies." Another knock. The mother: "go back and see who it is and what they want." Amahl hurries back to the door. He opens it slightly and looks outside. He closes it and returns to his mother. Amahl: "Mum, I didn’t tell you the truth before…" The mother: "there’s a good boy!" Amahl: "There isn’t a king outside at all…" The mother: "I should think not." Amahl: "There are two kings!" The mother: "Oh! What can I do with the child like you, what can I do!" (Another knock). "Go quickly and see who it is and see what happens if you continue to lie!" (once again, Amahl goes to the door and has to come back). Amahl: "Mum…Mum…Come, come here, if I tell you the truth you just won’t believe me". The mother: "Do you know you are a strange boy!". Amahl: "You never believe me!". The mother: "I will believe you if you tell me the truth". Amahl: "I admit that there aren’t two kings at the door". The mother: "Oh, really??!!" Amahl: "There are three and one is black like coffee".

Childhood takes its origin from the symbolic code of the universe. It isn’t the pre-existing world that gives birth to the child, but it is the child who creates the world and he does it as God created humans, in his own image. Therefore, the lie of the child has a profound meaning of rebellion (consisting of a rejection of the rules of the adult world that is blinded by the banality and repetitiveness of life) and a suggestion (in which the child is the bearer of a new vision of the world, which, because born with him, is a completely fresh and unique gift of life). He is the prophet of a new and extraordinarily unique world, "to enter in his knowledge it is necessary to disobey, it is necessary to employ "clever disobedience" of the child who like a little Prometheus, steals the matches. He runs in fields and when he finds a corner, helped by his friends, he sets up the hearth for those playing truant" G. Bachelard. Therefore the lie is like disobedience and disobedience is like a form of knowledge. For the adult who is able to listen to the child who tells a lie, he will see a child who is telling him a new and engrossing story, a story that represents the way he sees things and this enables the adult to discover his desire to approach himself. The lie presents a challenge which is the request from a child to be trusted, that has to happen without judgment and fear. The problem is that the adult considers himself to be in the right position and suggests that the child follows the "already lived life", which means that the child has to accept and has to submit to the rules of the adult world. Once that the adult has established the rules that determine the future of a man, the child will follow them and in doing so the pure and naďve infancy will disappear and standardized thought will take its place. However the infancy will eventually come out and show us the trickery that we felt and, for whoever wants to hear, the infancy gives us the possibility to rediscover a new world that is more similar with the human essence.

It is true that children can know more than what they can express. Polanyi speaks about "unexpressed knowledge": the original and natural dimension of knowledge is the lack of expression, the silence. As Bachelard affirms, the imagination is former to the memory. The original act is just an imagination: the imagination is the first dimension of the psyche. Referring to the dialogue in the story, we can conclude by saying: if the adult who lives in poverty in his hut (intended as the "I" of the man) will let himself believe in what the child sees, Amahl will hear, on a cold night rich with stars high in the sky, knocking at the door and it is only he, who will have the possibility to open the door to the magic of the universe. In order for us to also experience a beautiful Epiphany, we just need to trust him.

The Imaginative Child

As Bachelard affirms, "the imagination is former to the memory. The original act is just an imagination: the imagination is the first dimension of the psyche." While you are young the planet Neptune, which deals with the imagination is difficult to cope with, but it is also an endless cornucopia from where beauty and dreams can be poured out through childhood.

Children express fascination in a most natural way, and this gift is given at the the very moment of their birth: imagination takes form through their open eyes, they start to see the world as an unclear and vague source of astonishment and surprise. The world either will confirm their dreams or delude them. This is the stage when the beginning of the expressive imagination takes place. The reality is the scene, the stage, where the child plays his role. The boundaries often are dissolving, and the child can be deluded, or confused by the mysteries of his dreams mixed with the reality.

Neptune, the planet, denotes, if strong and well placed in a chart with a good aspect with Mercury, great imagination and great visual creativity. It means also that the child is very sensitive and can empathize with others, being sensitive to their needs and wants. The child under the Neptunian influence is one of the most vibrant personalities; in the environment, his inner antennas pick up vibes around him. If Neptune got afflicted from the energy of Mercury (which expresses the rational mind) the child can be so nervously sensitive to catch all the psychological negative energies floating close to him to cause a strong reaction.

The only way to deal with a very nervous child is to move him to a peaceful, positive environment, far from bad energies around him. What is reality for him? What is the truth? Simply, he doesn't know. As the child will grow older he will learn to understand the working of the mind. His fantasy world will become an endless source of ideas, of creative writing or art.
